U of Pune Bioinformatics gets a booster

On the other hand, Waphare has projected a Rs 4-crore increase in expenditure towards power supply and has raised the allocation for the development of the institute of bioinformatics and biotechnology by Rs 1.75 crore towards development and Rs 3 lakh towards maintenance costs.

Similarly, the allocation for construction of a girls hostel and a microbiology department building has been raised by Rs 50 lakh each and for the boys hostel the same is up by Rs 40 lakh.

NIIT University to offer MTech in Bioinformatics

While the university started with offering BTech programmes in computer science and engineering, ICT and biotechnology, its MTech programmes include computer science and engineering, ICT, bioinformatics and educational technology. Its PhD programmes include computer science and engineering, ICT, educational technology and bioinformatics and biotechnology. The university has plans for management programmes as well.
